Sardinian fede: differences between Campidanese, Nuorese and Gallurese

ree

Introduction

“Sardinian fede” isn’t just one ring. Over time, workshops across the island shaped three recurring styles: Campidanese, Nuorese, and Gallurese. They differ in profile height, filigree/granulation, heft and finishes. This guide helps you recognise each at a glance, decide which suits you best, and see how they map to our 800 silver models (which in our designs prove more robust and durable than 925). Need a quick recommendation? Message us on WhatsApp: +39-3247426529.

How to recognise the three styles

1) Campidanese

  • Tells: slim to medium profile, airy, ordered filigree, granulation present but restrained.

  • Look & wear: very everyday-friendly; discreet, elegant.

  • Typical finishes: polished or light antiqued for gentle depth.

  • Best for: slim/medium fingers; anyone after traditional subtlety.

2) Nuorese

  • Tells: dense granulation, strong relief, band feels fuller/taller.

  • Look & wear: bold presence, instantly recognisable.

  • Typical finishes: antiqued (highlights grains), also satin.

  • Best for: those who like a statement ring, medium/wider fingers.

3) Gallurese

  • Tells: more continuous filigree/braid, flowing lines, granulation measured.

  • Look & wear: elegant, fluid, often slightly lower in height.

  • Typical finishes: polished or moderately antiqued.

  • Best for: tradition with a refined, smoother texture.
